In a pioneering move, SEGi College Kuala Lumpur has joined the Thomson Hospital Alliance Group (TAG) programme, a strategic partnership between Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara (THKD) and selected Malaysian universities and colleges. This first-of-its-kind healthcare alliance aims to enhance the quality of healthcare education and boost graduate employability, ultimately strengthening the nation’s healthcare ecosystem.
The TAG programme, already awarded the “First Hospital Alliance with Tertiary Educational Institutions” by the Malaysia Book of Records, is supported by Talent Corporation Malaysia (TalentCorp). This collaboration will bridge the gap between academia and industry, transforming healthcare education. With the combined expertise and resources of both parties, healthcare graduates will be well-prepared with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the fast-evolving healthcare sector.
THKD CEO Nadiah Wan shared her excitement about the alliance, saying, “We’re thrilled to join forces with esteemed Malaysian universities and colleges, with the support of Talent Corporation Malaysia. Together, we’ll elevate healthcare education quality and empower graduates with the skills needed to succeed in the industry.”
TalentCorp Group CEO Thomas Mathew added, “The industry-driven framework for TAG is strategic and timely, and TalentCorp will work closely with the alliance to develop a skilled and diverse workforce, cementing Malaysia’s position as a premier talent destination.”
SEGi College Kuala Lumpur is proud to be part of this innovative initiative, which holds great potential for Malaysia’s healthcare sector, education landscape, and graduate employability. As a participant in the TAG programme, SEGi College Kuala Lumpur is dedicated to fostering partnerships that drive innovation, enhance education quality, and ultimately build a healthier and more prosperous nation.
In addition to the TAG programme, Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara is sponsoring scholarships for Diploma and Degree students in Nursing. The scholarship package includes programme fees, hostel fees, transport fees, monthly allowances, and other benefits, with a five-year bond with Thomson Hospital upon graduation. This generous support demonstrates THKD’s commitment to advancing education and contributing to the nation’s development.
