SEGi University’s optometry students recently participated in a medical camp organised by the Women’s Community Organisation Puchong with the support of the MP’s Office. The camp comprised a blood-donation drive by the national blood bank, medical examinations, eye examinations, and a booth for breast cancer awareness.
This drive on 31 August was one of SEGi University’s CSR projects to help the B40 group and, at the same time, provide clinical exposure to SEGi’s final-year optometry students to perform eye examinations for the public.
After the eye examinations, those who required prescription glasses received them free of charge, per courtesy of the Rotary Club of Sentul, which works with the Faculty of Optometry and Vision Sciences of SEGi University in their CRS projects. Over sixty community members had these health checks done, many of whom received the complimentary prescription glasses.
At SEGi we continue to serve our students by giving them the best education possible and our community in whatever way we can.
