Dr. Derek Watson, an Associate Professor in Cultural Management and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, was the invited keynote speaker at SEGi College Kuala Lumpur’s MBA Preview Day. The purpose of the event was to give prospective students an overview of the MBA programmes offered at the college as well as to introduce Dr. Watson’s expertise in innovation and technology transfer.
Dr. Watson’s impressive credentials include founding the Sunderland Business School’s ‘Business Clinic’ and leading the University’s Doctoral ‘Research Fridays’ programme. He has extensive experience mapping skill requirements in emerging sectors and forming international partnerships, including with the British Cabinet Office, the Indian Government Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, the Dubai Police, and Canon International. Dr. Watson’s research is concerned with academic-industry collaboration and the impact of knowledge exchange on practise in the classroom and the workplace.
