SEGi College Kuala Lumpur proudly hosted the silver chariot procession as part of the Thaipusam Celebration. Thaipusam is Malaysia’s second-largest Hindu festival, held on the first full moon day of the Tamil month of Thai.
The college’s staff, family members, and students generously contributed to the event by offering various food and drinks for all devotees who walked along with the chariot. Volunteers helped decorate, pack food and drinks, and serve the devoted devotees.
Over one million Hindu devotees participated in Thaipusam 2023 across the country, according to the Malaysia Hindu Sangam. An estimated 300,000 people turned out in Kuala Lumpur, with many walking along the procession route from the Maha Mariamman Temple on Jalan Tun H S Lee to SEGi College Kuala Lumpur.
