Toh admitted that he has given similar talks to university students previously. However, it was his first time giving a talk and conveying important messages and advices with a series of short stories to his audience, “I think it would be easier to engage the students by telling short stories that are relevant to them in the near future, and the moral of the story would be more memorable for the students. This power talk series is a good initiative for universities to organise as it provide students with career advices before they graduate.”

The resume clinic that we organise will also help the students in their first step into their career journey,” added Toh.

Tengku Puteri Umairah, SEGi College Subang Jaya second year Bachelor of Accounting and Finance student found the talk unique, very interesting and useful, “From the talk, Mr. Derek Toh shared five stories regarding how to become a successful entrepreneur, but from every each story it has a lesson or moral. I remember a few quotes that inspired me, such as we need to remember who we are today and every day because this is not the destination, and to become a successful person, there will be ups and down, so we need to stay calm and always push forward.”
