As part of the SEGi’s Student Enrichment Program (SEP), The Faculty of Business, Accounting, and Management (FOBAM), SEGi University, recently organised a two-hour “Meditation for Managing Stress” session with Ms Pramila Krishnamurthy, Pranic Healing Instructor from Centre for Pranayoga and Self Transformation (KL), for more than 70 SEGi students and staff.
As our country moves towards Vision 2020 and the National Transformation 2050 (TN50), we are on the verge of tremendous global implications. Combined with the stress of our daily lives as students, parents, teachers, and the rising competitiveness to be successful in our lives and the corporate world, we have to undergo immense pressures. However, when left unmanaged over time, too much stress can lead to other serious problems, such as stomach ulcers, stroke, asthma, and heart disease. Thus, many of us sought ways to relieve our stress. Therefore, the “Meditation for Managing Stress” session comes at a most opportune time for SEGi students and staff.
Participants of the session learned to grow and challenge themselves, sharpen their skills to be more effective and efficient, explore new ways of working, gained greater focus, and most importantly, had fun while building new and strengthening old relationships. Besides raising awareness of stress and its management in our daily lives, students and staff learned techniques to manage stress easily and advantageous, resulting in healthier and less stressful lives.
