The Faculty of Dentistry at SEGi University offers students a one-of-a-kind and comprehensive learning experience. The faculty provides a Bachelor of Dental Surgery programme with a variety of facilities, highly qualified and experienced academic staff, and a large patient pool for clinical practice.
The large patient pool available for clinical practise is one of the primary benefits of studying dentistry at SEGi. The SEGi Oral Health Centre is a well-equipped facility where students can receive training and practise. The centre is in the heart of a developed city and is accessible via various modes of public transportation, including the MRT. Promotional programmes and community-based outreach activities help to expand the patient pool. The faculty’s student-to-patient ratio exceeds the Malaysian Qualifications Agency’s (MQA) minimum requirements, validating the competency of SEGi’s dental graduates.
The Faculty of Dentistry at SEGi also boasts a “one-stop training centre,” with all teaching and learning activities for the entire five-year Bachelor of Dental Surgery programme taking place on campus. Classrooms, laboratories, an Oral Health Center, clinics for all specialties, and a Radiology Unit are all housed under one roof. This configuration ensures that pre-clinical and clinical teaching and learning activities are better coordinated, resulting in a more conducive educational environment.
