Congratulations to the University of Sunderland for making it to the 50th position by The Guardian University Guide 2023.
It is an improvement of 42 places, from the 92th position a year ago. The University of Sunderland has recently received many recognitions, including the University of the Year in the Times Higher Education Awards in 2021 and the University of the Year for social inclusion in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021.
The Guardian University Guide 2023 rankings focus on what students care about, such as good teaching and job prospects. Other ranking includes student satisfaction, how big class sizes are through student-to-staff ratio and many more. It ranks universities through nine different categories, which form a total of 100 per cent.
The University of Sunderland recorded 76.7 per cent of students satisfied with the course, 80.8 per cent with teaching, 73.4 per cent with the feedback, and student-to-staff ratio is 15.9. At the same time, 71 per cent of graduated students get employed within 6 months upon graduation.
Its Vice-Chancellor and chief executive, Sir David Bell, said, “University ‘league tables’ are only one measure of the work done at the University of Sunderland. However, such a dramatic rise in the Guardian University Guide is a notable moment for us. So as always, I pay tribute to students and staff for all their hard work, which we see and celebrate, day in and day out.”
