To bring learning to life and increase students’ awareness of multicultural art forms, the School of Hospitality and Tourism (SOHT), SEGi University, organised an educational trip for 18 students who SOHT lecturer, Miss Clarice Kangut, accompanied. The trip aimed to allow students to evaluate the development of urban tourism according to current and future needs and interpret the urban and regional tourism planning.
Guangzhou, a prosperous metropolis and famous tourist city in South China, was selected as their go-to destination. It is renowned for its sophisticated building design, sculpture, culture, handicrafts and performing arts. The trip had certainly coloured the students with different perspectives. It provided them with fruitful insights into the local and international tourism industry and allowed them to learn more about tourism development, planning, and design.
