Dato’ John Tiong Tak Chong holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Monash University, Australia, and a Diploma in Computing from Swinburne University of Technology, Australia.
He began his professional journey with the Syslink Group, where he gained significant experience working with various information technology companies. In 2005, Dato’ John transitioned into the education sector, where he acquired and developed several private higher education institutions and vocational colleges throughout Malaysia. His extensive experience in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) has established him as a prominent figure in this field. He also currently serves as the Group CEO of one of the largest and leading TVET colleges in Sarawak.
Throughout his career, Dato’ John has also been involved in diverse industries, including healthcare services, property and construction. His broad expertise and contributions to these sectors are widely recognised. He also serves as an Independent Non-Executive Director of HCK Capital Group Bhd since June 2022.
In recognition of his leadership and service to the community, Dato’ John was appointed as Pemanca, Kuching City Chinese Community Leader, by the Sarawak Government, underscoring his commitment to both professional excellence and community development.
