Carnival Cheer as SEGi Gives Back to Community
The annual Charity Carnival held at Kota Damansara highlights many activities for families. Living up to its name as a charity carnival, proceeds of the income generated from coupon sales at the event will be given out to various named charities. The Charity Carnival this year promises to be even bigger and more exciting than last year’s. It also the first time a student body – White House from the School of American Degree Programme – is organizing the event. Visitors can look forward to food galore from different cultures and countries. Giant inflatables will be put up for the young ones to play in a safe environment. This will give the adults peace of mind as they go about shopping at the bazaar. The bazaar will feature stalls selling intricate trinkets, foodstuff, Tupperware, clothings and other items at attractively low prizes. Those looking forward to a bargain for items such as cameras, golf clubs, household electrical items, toys and even clothings can check out the charity jumble sale at the bazaar. Prizes and attractive gifts await those who participate in challenges available at the games stalls. The stalls are manned by students and staff of the college. Those who who are brave enough can participate in fun-filled competitions such as the gladiator and ‘sumo wrestling’. 8TV will be there with their roving team, ready to give out prizes for fun games. Don’t miss performances by international students, 8TV stars and other artists as well as cheerleading stunts. Visitors are advised to bring along their pens and autograph books as 8TV celebrities such as Dennis of So You Think You Can Dance, Shila of One in A Million and Daniel Lee are among the celebrities lined up for the event. Sports fans can look forward to the SEGi Futsal Face-Off, as well as the SEGi street basketball challenge. Not to be missed is the high energy cheerleading performance to support the sports events. Students who enrol on 12 July during the International Cultures & Food Fair will enjoy special enrolment discounts, flexible payment schemes and free assistance in PTPTN loan application. At the Fair, you will get to taste food from different countries, watch international cultural performances, take a picture in all sorts of cultural costumes, attend free useful workshops and get some free gifts. There is a whole host of activities for the entire day. Parking is free for visitors. You may even win a gift from the lucky draw. SEGi College is known to provide industry related programmes.
